Why did I choose Singapore as the entry point into Southeast Asia? This island is a ‘melting pot’ of an array of different cultures – particularly Chinese, Malay and Indian. With this, comes uniqueness in the food, culture, religions and the general way of doing things. The city is also known as a ‘Garden City’ and I wanted to experience all that I could in short visit while on a budget.
